Business Reset For Fall: Back Into A Routine
Have you been leaning into the shift from summer to fall? I know I am. September always feels like the perfect time to get back on track. Summer is wonderful with its free-flowing days, but fall is the perfect time to settle back into a rhythm and find your groove.
For me, September will always bring back to school energy, a time to get back to structure and routines. With the busy holiday season approaching, now is the perfect time to reset. And while you may be excited to get back into all of the things you have been delaying, it can be overwhelming if you jump right in without a plan. All you really need is a moment to breathe and a chance to check in and reset so you feel focused and ready to grow. So, block some time, grab your favorite beverage, and let’s get planning.
3 Areas to Review
The first thing on your to-do list should be to review your goals. How are you doing? Have you made any progress? It's also a great time to think about what's working and what's not. Then you can implement any updates or make changes necessary, and it's okay to let goals go if they are no longer serving you.
Next, go in and check out your marketing and visibility plan. How is it going? Were you consistent over the slower summer months? Does your plan need an update? Now would be a great time to update your process. I find that marketing works best when it's part of your routine and not something you squeeze in when you have time.
Finally, take a look at your weekly schedule to make sure it is still supporting you. Do you have a good structure in place? Do you have set days for the tasks you need to get accomplished? Are there any items that need to be removed or added? Also, add all of your important personal items to your calendar first (appointments, events, events, etc). Then, I personally like to go in and time block business tasks, to ensure I make time to work on my goals. Don’t forget to add time to work on your marketing plan, too!
What’s Next: Creating Space for Growth
Now that you’ve checked in with your goals, your schedule, and your visibility plan, it’s time to check in with your processes and systems. These aren’t just about being organized; they give you back your time and energy so you can focus on what truly matters: signing new clients, serving your people well, and carving out space for creativity.
When your systems and routines are running smoothly, you gain the freedom to grow without burning out. So make September your reset month. Use this time to get back on track and set up routines and systems that support your growth, not just for fall, but into the busy holiday season and beyond.
